HOLLAND LOP BUNNIES FOR SALE

THE FOLLOWING BABIES WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER THE DATE STATED.....

HOLLAND LOP Buddy

VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!
Please do not pick up your bunny and take it to a birthday party! The bunny will be stressed out already because it is in unfamiliar surroundings. It has never ridden in a car, or been in a box or carrier and doesn't know you! All the kids and noise will scare it more and it could literally pass out from fear and die.  I know you want to show off the bunny to your friends, but wait a couple of days until the bunny becomes accustomed to you and your home. Then you can have your best friend over to see your new treasured fur baby.

When it comes time for you to pick up your baby and it doesn't weigh a certain amount and is not eating well on it's own, I will be keeping it a little longer. No exceptions! Babies health is the main concern.

I AM IN TEXAS AND I DO NOT SHIP!!

FYI-  My bunnies are indoor bunnies.  If it is your intention to keep one of my bunnies outdoors, please go buy one from someone else. The photo below is a wild Jack Rabbit. Notice the blood veins and capillaries in it's ears. The rabbit holds it's ears up in the breeze. The blood in the ears is cooled and returns to the body. The ears are then filled with hot blood and the process starts over again, cooling the rabbit.  My bunnies do not have the type of ears that can cool them. Rabbits don't pant and can't sweat. Through their ears is the only way they can get cool.  Dwarf ears are too small. Lion Head ears are covered with their mane. Lop ears hang down and they can never hold them up.

FYI- MINI LOPS ARE THE BIG ONES, HOLLAND LOPS ARE THE SMALLER ONES.  ISN'T THAT WEIRD?

       WHAT THE HECK DOES "DOUBLE
         MANED" LION HEAD MEAN?

Contrary to popular belief, it does NOT mean the bunny has thicker fur. It is a genetic term meaning that the bunny carries two genes for making a "mane",  a full blooded rabbit.  Each parent has two genes for making a mane, when each of them gives one to the baby it will be a "Double Mane".  A Lion Head that is a mixed breed only has one "mane" gene to give. It can give the "mane" gene or the gene that doesn't make a mane.  If both parents give the "mane" gene, the baby will be "Double Maned".  If one gives a gene that doesn't carry "mane" the baby will be "Single Maned", not a pure Lion Head bunny.  Lion Head breeding programs have been around long enough to have weeded out the single maned rabbits.  Make sure you can trust the bunny you are getting is a a full blooded, double maned Lion Head.  Netherland Dwarf Holland Lop Lion Head Houston Texas

People call me or come to my house and expect a bunny that will be no bigger than their hand when grown.   They see bunnies on the internet sitting in tea cups and assume these are grown rabbits.  THEY ARE BABIES! Every bunny photo I have seen on the internet sitting in someones hand or in a cup, looks about 2 weeks old. After 40 years raising bunnies, I can tell a 2 week old bunny when I see it. Dwarf bunnies grow up to be 2 to 3 pound rabbits.  That is small, but they won't fit in a teacup. Netherland Dwarf Holland Lop Lion Head  Houston Texas

I AM IN TEXAS, CAN YOU DRIVE HERE?   I probably live an hour from you, or more. Don't tell me that is too far to drive, I will be amused. People drive here from other states to get a bunny.  I have driven 7 hours (one way) by myself,  to get a bunny I wanted.  And, I will do it again, if a bunny I want is far away. You can too!

NO SHIPPING, NO MAILING, NO DELIVERY.  YOU MUST COME TO FRIENDSWOOD TEXAS AND PICK UP YOUR BUNNY AT MY HOUSE.  PLEASE DON'T CONTACT ME IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE HERE.  IF YOU ARE A CHILD, PLEASE HAVE YOUR MOTHER OR FATHER CONTACT ME.  PLEASE DON'T TEXT OR CALL ME AFTER 9PM OR BEFORE 8AM, CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME.   THANK YOU. DIANNE BUTLER

Explanation of "Show Prospect"--  A bunny that will be kept by the breeder until growth shows the bunny to be show quality or not.  This sometimes is not know until the bunny is six (6) months old or older.  Most of the time they will  turn out to be beautiful pet bunnies, but not show bunnies. In other words, show quality can not be guaranteed, and doesn't happen often.
